This past weekend, while Shannon was in class, I drove up to Denison to hang out with my parents. We had fun roaming around town and made a quick trip to my grandparents house to go through some things they were wanting to get rid of. I ended up getting lots of paintings by my great grandfather and a few frames made by him from old barn wood. I've been looking for large empty frames lately so I could do this...
I started with this:
Then I measured where I wanted my wire to go and put a nail halfway into the wood. Next, I wrapped floral wire around the nail and hammered it all the way in. And VOILA...its that easy.
(The mini clothes pins are from Wal-Mart.)
I love it! It will be fun to change out the pictures anytime we want...and it will be perfect for Christmas cards!!!

What a great idea! It looks fantastic! So creative in using something that has family memories and history in a new way. Love the idea of using it for Christmas cards too.
